چکیده

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a key technology for smart community networks, such as smart-city environments, and its evolution calls stringent performance requirements (e.g., low delay) to support efficient communication among wide range objects, including people, sensors, vehicles, etc. At the same time, these ecosystems usually adopt wireless mesh extend their in large-scale IoT deployments. However, due high coverage, WMNs may face different network challenges according characteristic, example, (i) areas that include significant number nodes or (ii) with frequent dynamic changes link failures unstable topologies. Named-Data Networking (NDN) can enhance meet requirements, thanks content naming scheme in-network caching, but it necessitates adaptability challenging conditions WMNs. In this work, we aim at end-to-end NDN terms (i.e., delay), performing extended experimentation over real WMN, evaluating discussing benefits provided by two SDN-based strategies: (1) solution integrates operation routing decisions WMN protocol; (2) static one which based on clustering measurements. Our contributions implementation types path selection strategies; data collection w-iLab.t Fed4FIRE+ testbed conditions; measurements released open-data, related links RSSI, delay, packet loss corresponding testbed.

A New Method based on Intelligent Water Drops for Multicast Routing in Wireless Mesh Networks

In recent years a new type of wireless networks named wireless mesh networks has drawn the attention of researchers. In order to increase the capacity of mesh network, nodes are equipped with multiple radios tuned on multiple channels emerging multi radio multi channel wireless mesh networks. Therefore, the main challenge of these networks is how to properly assign the channels to the radios. O...

ANCHOR: logically-centralized security for Software-Defined Networks

Software-defined networking (SDN) decouples the control and data planes of traditional networks, logically centralizing the functional properties of the network in the SDN controller. While this centralization brought advantages such as a faster pace of innovation, it also disrupted some of the natural defenses of traditional architectures against different threats. The literature on SDN has mo...

Branch-Based Centralized Data Collection for Smart Grids Using Wireless Sensor Networks

A smart grid is one of the most important applications in smart cities. In a smart grid, a smart meter acts as a sensor node in a sensor network, and a central device collects power usage from every smart meter. This paper focuses on a centralized data collection problem of how to collect every power usage from every meter without collisions in an environment in which the time synchronization a...
